3. On the ‘Looking for an older backup?’ section, click on ‘Go to Backup and Restore (Windows 7)’.

5. Next, you have to select ‘On a hard disk’ Then, choose the location to export Windows 10 full backup.

6. Click Next and choose any of the hard drives and put them up in the backup.

Note: You’ll be asked to create a system repair disc, you can although skip this. However, you can use a USB installation media to restore the machine.

9. Click on Close.

When the installation is complete, you’ll see a system image created including everything you must be looking for. Additionally, while backing up you can keep working on your device, as it uses Shadow Copy for file backup and apps even when they are open. Once the process completes, detach the hard drive and keep it safely.

  • Connect your hard drive with the system image backup and then connect Windows 10 USB bootable drive.
  • Start the PC and press any key on the USB bootable drive startup prompt to continue.
  • You’ll then see a Windows Setup page, click on Next to proceed further.
  • Click on Repair your computer and then click on Troubleshoot.
  • Now, click on System Image Recovery.
  • Select the operating system i.e. Windows 10.
  • You’ll further see a window i.e. Re-image your computer, and then select use the latest available system image

Note: For the ones having multiple backups, you can use Select an image backup.

  • Click on the Next
  • Now, choose the format and repartition disks. You can further use Exclude disks option to restrict formatting of secondary drives.
  • Then, on the next screen checkmark ‘only restore system drivers’.
  • Click on Next > Finish > Yes
