First, a little about me, after all, why should you listen to me?

The information I am about to share is backed by many years of experience in commercial and residential carpet Stain removal. I have worked as a professional cleaner and have cleaned carpets many times for various office buildings in Victoria and Melbourne. After being exposed to commercial carpet cleaning, it seemed natural to spend some time cleaning my carpet at home instead of hiring the job. As you can guess, this article is not based on many theories. Based on real in the trenches’ carpet cleaning experience.

Carpet cleaning problems

Let’s start by taking a look at some of the most common carpet cleaning problems you may encounter.
Some of the most common but frightening carpet stains include barbecue stains, beer stains, blood stains, coffee stains, ink stains, and even wax stains. Instead of trying to go into detail in this article on how to treat specific stains, I decided to cover the crucial topic of the process.

I know you might be thinking that you don’t want to waste your time with these “basics” and only want to remove the stains now, but I assure you that it is very important that you learn how to clean your carpet the right way. Before facing any carpet cleaning challenge. When you know how to clean carpet stains, these jobs won’t look as overwhelming as they do to most people.

Carpet cleaning process. Here is a 4-step process that you can use when treating a carpet stain.

  1. Removal of solid particles

Remove as many loose solid particles as possible. You may want to wear protective gloves when doing this. Here is an example of how solid particles can be removed. Suppose it is a pepperoni pizza place. Do not begin treating the stain until you have removed all the pepperoni and cheese from the carpet fibers. Just eat as much pepperoni as possible with cheese and throw it as far as you can.

  1. Dry the carpet spot

Begin by treating the actual stains by seeing if you can clean up the mess with a dry cloth. Oftentimes, you will find that drying the area will remove a large portion of the stain. Use a clean, dry cloth. If you do not have a clean, dry cloth, you should be able to replace it with paper towels.

  1. Try a carpet cleaning solution

Although many household items, such as soda and peroxide, can help remove stains from your carpet, it is important to first know the type of carpet cleaning and the function of the stains you are treating.
The cleaning solution should be tested in a small area, ideally in a hidden location out of sight. To test the cleaning solution to determine if it is safe to use on your carpet, here’s what you should do: Apply a small amount of the cleaning solution of your choice to a very small area of carpet that no one will see. If your carpet does not change color in this test area, you can continue treating the carpet stain.

  1. Remove the stain from the carpet

Apply the cleaning solution of your choice to the fibers and allow them to dry. What I am going to tell you now is very important so remember this. Do not rub when trying to remove the stain. Always dry. Why? Rubbing can cause the stain to penetrate deep into the grain of the carpet. And you definitely don’t want to do that! Wipe the solution onto the stain frequently until it is removed. Rinse the area with clean water and pat dry again until as much of the water is removed. The final step is to keep traffic off the clean area and allow it to dry completely.

Carpet cleaning solutions

Now that I know the process of carpet stain removal services, I want to share some cleaning solutions that you can use. When I say solutions, I mean the actual liquid cleaners you’ll be using to help remove the stain.
Peroxide works well in cleaning carpet stains (but remember to always test the carpet first).
For juice stains, ink stains, coffee stains, and other similar stains try soda or booster water.

To summarize what we covered earlier in the cleaning process, apply the solution to the stain frequently until the visible stain is removed. After removing the visible stain, rinse the same area with clean water and re-clean it until the maximum amount of water is removed. Now keep the traffic off the area and let it dry completely. I hope this information was useful to you and that the next time you face a carpet cleaning challenge you feel better prepared to tackle it.
